Winter Wonderland

We have had so much fluffy stuff this winter! Im just loving it! Our entertainment room has been coming together just lovely, we haven’t had television set up for 2 years now and I can honestly say I actually wasn’t missing out one bit. Although it has been great to curl up next to the fire place with a cup of tea and watch a movie with my family. Here are some items we plan to incorporate in the space. We added this awesome ceiling fan, we had already installed one in our master suite & it moves the air very efficiently. I love the unique vintage feel and it looks like it came with the house
I just received two of these chairs, it was like x-mas all over again when they arrived!! I was so excited! now i am just waiting on the sofa to match
Here is the fire place that inspired the whole room. The tile has a fabulous history to it, my artistic neighbor researched out for us. This tile came over seas in the late 1800's
One of my all-time favorite local artist James C Christensen. I received this print as a gift last year and I will be getting it framed hopefully for my B-day next month Angel Unaware

Kitchen Remodel Accomplished

I’m so excited! I love my cozy kitchen! As every mother knows the kitchen is the heart of the home. I had my first special recollection this summer enjoying my new space. It was a perfect summer afternoon I was wearing an airy sundress, standing bare foot in front of my stove stirring a big pot of my famous curry. I had some enjoyable music playing and my sweet dog Burton was laying on his rug, my husband was on the front porch enjoying a cigar, sitting in his rocking chair, I can hear Kaia and her friend jumping cannon balls into the pool. At that moment my life seriously could not be more perfect; my heart was swelling with joy as I thought about how blessed our life has been. Ummm.. these little moments make all the daily chaos totally worth it. Anyway here are some updated photos of our new kitchen.
Scott did an incredible job with the ceiling tiles, I know it was quite time consuming for him but I’m so happy with the look it gave the room.
The copper backsplash adds the drama and contrast to the room; I used two shades of copper throughout the kitchen
At last, I got my copper sink! This tied in the ceiling, counter trim and backsplash
No Kitchen is complete without a coffee station ;)

Kitchen Remodel Status: Still In Progress but Almost Done

This Wallpaper is so sooo busy! The Lighting way to dim for the space and the fixture is to small scale for the room, it's a cool, original antique, but NOT functional for the Kitchen, Ill find another space in the home for this fixture.

This picture is on the dark side and doesn't show the quality of the wall. The plaster has a great texture with dimension and metallic hues to tie in the copper and stainless steal

Ahhhhhhh... now that's much better! We are currently working on the back splash and I'm saving my pennies for a copper kitchen sink. Stay Tuned.....

Crown molding can be tricky.. Scottie did an incredible job on this!

Stain Glass Window

I wanted the same crown for the play room but mish wish was vetoed by this round window. I am however still quite pleased with the turn out

Demolition Time!

Behind the plaster we found a fire place and exposed the brick, tucked inside the brick were old news paper clippings and advertisments

This home was built to last, 112 years old! Under the base boards were all kinds of happy bugs that aren’t to happy anymore, it’s things like replacing the base boards and carpet you can’t just hire out because it ends up covered up instead of being done right with passion and pride.
I hired a annual pest control company and I will be utilizing them again next year too, It’s defiantly worth every cent and they come at my beckon call. We had wasp, bee’s, spiders, BIRDS?! And maybe mice (I didn’t see any but I would freak out if I did)
